Virginia explains the police's murder suicide theory to June: Clare and Harry are supposed to have shared a drink, then they argued and finally Harry shot Clare and then himself. In the Crime Scene Photo June and Virginia notice that there are three whiskey glassed and that Harry's carafe is missing, which suggests a third person had been at the crime scene. Virginia tells June that she told the police about her suspicions, but the police dismissed her. Then, Virginia shows June a muddy footprint, which can neither be Harry's nor Clare's. June deduces that an unknown person might have come in from the garden.
